Our lunch presentation will feature Sam Sims, APR, PRSA Web site chair, to speak about the various entry level jobs available to recent and upcoming graduates, as well as the qualifications many employers are looking for. Murray is a first generation American businesswoman, professional speaker, TV Host, Web Producer, Emcee, former top secret government contractor and private pilot. Murray has more than 25 years of experience in the area of organizational development, information technology, human resource management, presentation skills, executive coaching and business communications. She has worked for and with small and corporate businesses, franchise organizations, non-profits, government agencies and defense contractors across the United States, including Fortune companies: General Electric, IBM, Compaq Computer Corporation, Lockheed, KPMG, Genetech and Rolls Royce, as well as all branches of the United States Armed Forces. In 2006, she earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology and Technology from the University of Oklahoma and was the 2005/2006 President of the National Speaker Association (NSA) Oklahoma Chapter. Join the PRSA – Oklahoma City chapter on Wednesday, May 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and get an inside look at one of Oklahoma’s Centennial events — the Oklahoma History Center’s “First Families of Oklahoma” exhibit.The opening of this exhibit featured the seven living governors of Oklahoma, including former Governor David Hall, who had not made any public appearances in Oklahoma since his 1975 departure from the state. Oklahoma History Center Public Relations and Marketing Director Michael Dean will walk us through the steps he took in planning, communicating and executing this major event. A native Oklahoman, Dean’s family settled in Norman prior to statehood. His interest in history began at a young age and continued through his long career in broadcasting. He was named to his dream job at the History Center five years ago. Dean attended Northeastern A&M in Miami, Okla., and Oklahoma State University. He later earned both his bachelors and masters degrees from Southern Nazarene University. Dean just completed his 16th year as part of the Sooner Radio Network, working with Bob Barry on the broadcasts of OU football and men’s basketball games. He retired from the Army Reserve one year ago after serving for 28 years. He has been published in a number of Army magazines and other publications, and during the Persian Gulf War he served with the Armed Forces Desert Network. For the Oklahoma Historical Society, Dean manages the marketing and public relations activities for the new Oklahoma History Center and has a three-minute weekly radio program on Oklahoma history that is broadcast on more then 20 radio stations around the state. | ||||||||||||

Prior to joining the Congresswoman's district office, Drabek served as press secretary in Fallin's Lieutenant Governor's office and served as director of communications for her Congressional campaign. Before joining the political arena, Drabek worked as a television news reporter for KFSM-TV, Fayetteville, Ark., and KTEN-TV, Ardmore, Okla., as well as in media relations for the Chickasaw Nation.
