Focuses on Capital Communication
Congressional Staffers Give Insider's View of Political Communications
OKLAHOMA CITY – Public Relations Society of America’s Oklahoma City Chapter invites local PR Practitioners and others to Nonna’s in Bricktown, March 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a luncheon discussion on political communications.
Dena Drabek, press secretary and special projects coordinator for Oklahoma Congresswoman Mary Fallin, will speak to her experiences in the political communications arena. Drabek will be joined by Fallin's Field Representative Todd Pauley.
Prior to joining the Congresswoman's district office, Drabek served as press secretary in Fallin's Lieutenant Governor's office and served as director of communications for her Congressional campaign. Before joining the political arena, Drabek worked as a television news reporter for KFSM-TV, Fayetteville, Ark., and KTEN-TV, Ardmore, Okla., as well as in media relations for the Chickasaw Nation. Drabek holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's in administrative leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
Pauley previously served as the public affairs consultant for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and on the board of the Neighborhood Alliance. Pauley's diverse background includes experiences in radio promotion, marketing in the music industry, and providing development, fundraising and public affairs support to higher education, non-profits, politcal action committees and numerous political campaigns.
